Reject the Premise

Remember when your Facebook wall was full of written statuses? Now it seems at least 90% of my wall is memes. Some of cute, some of them hilarious, but some are down right inaccurate. I know I live in a very bias society, but I refuse to go down without a fight.

This one came across on my wall the other day.

premise

Let’s get one thing straight. Redistribution & compassion are TWO different things!! Redistribution means: An economic theory or policy that advocates reducing inequalities in the distribution of wealth. Compassion means: a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for someone struck by misfortune, accompanied by a desire to alleviate the suffering; mercy.  By my understanding  of this means, redistribution is compassion by the barrel of a gun, something you are forced to do. Compassion, itself, is something done from the heart.

When you see memes that have misinformation in them, bring attention to it! Doesn’t matter what ‘side’ is posting it. You have two ways of winning a war, one with lies, the other with truth. I rather win with truth. I see less fights in the future with truth. Reject these premises when they raise up. Fight them with facts & logic. Save your republic!
