It’s days like this that I really miss the old moniker of this website.
So many good sex jokes to be made…but I digress. On to the article.
‘Are you sexually active? If so, with one partner, multiple partners or same-sex partners?”
Be ready to answer those questions and more the next time you go to the doctor, whether it’s the dermatologist or the cardiologist and no matter if the questions are unrelated to why you’re seeking medical help. And you can thank the Obama health law.
“This is nasty business,” says New York cardiologist Dr. Adam Budzikowski. He called the sex questions “insensitive, stupid and very intrusive.” He couldn’t think of an occasion when a cardiologist would need such information — but he knows he’ll be pushed to ask for it.
Doctors and hospitals who don’t comply with the federal government’s electronic-health-records requirements forgo incentive payments now; starting in 2015, they’ll face financial penalties from Medicare and Medicaid. The Department of Health and Human Services has already paid out over $12.7 billion for these incentives.

I work in a medical office for my day job and the idea that our doctor (or myself) would be required to ask people questions about their sex life (or gun ownership) when those questions have nothing to do with the illness or treatment at hand.
When I go to my lady doctor I expect that sort of question, because it’s relevant. I don’t expect those questions, nor would I be willing to answer them, from my neurologist or a nurse prepping me for surgery.
Personally I want as few people as possible to have intimate knowledge of my sex life, because, as the New York Post points out, our government doesn’t exactly have the best track record for keeping secret information secret these days. Plus, you know what, it’s none of your damn business.
The day they ask me that question, they will get this response:
Are you sexually active? If so, with one partner, multiple partners or same-sex partners?
Yeah, I get screwed daily, but I’m not sure if big government has a gender.
